Just a minute after the Flyers blueliner Randy Jones netted what would eventually be the game winning goal in Tampa Bay last night a blackout knocked out all power in the building. At the same time a whistle blew the play dead, but no one watching at home could see it. The broadcast was dead and the arena was pitch black. Eventually the power came on and the technical difficulties image that appeared on the screen was removed in favor of the resuming broadcast. The play was held for a bit while the teams waited for all of the lights to reboot themselves, but this wasn’t the first time play had been halted in the game. It would also not be the last as the Toronto War Room had to get involved in the game twice. Two calls made by Toronto declared a kick-in goal by Recchi and a high-stick goal by Stamkos both void. It was not a good night for the Lightning as if the blackout had sapped all power from the Bolts themselves.
With Tomas Kaberle sidelined with a broken hand, Derek Harmsworth takes a look at what it could mean going forward for the Leafs.

For this round of Wing Dings we’re takin’ it back to the old school for a healthy little brawl with the Buffalo Sabres. Check out Probert ding the hell out of Tom Barrasso before finally getting a shot in on Maguire. I bet Barrasso had to change his shorts after that one-on-one.
It also looked to [...]
Just when you thought the Devils had proven enough in Thursday night’s victory over the Boston Bruins, the Devils came out and showed yet again why they are a great team.

Brad Stuart is out for at least a couple of weeks with sore ribs. Henrik Zetterberg will miss his second straight game with back spasms. When teams get desperate for wins funny things start spreading. Sometimes the reason for the inconsistency is blamed on so-and-so’s new shampoo or even blamed on veteran defenseman who are still prime examples of greatness. For the Anaheim Ducks latest losing streak it is the latter.
With Scott Niedermayer, the team’s captain having made no clear [...]
After the Edmonton Oilers took a shelling by the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday the likes of which haven’t been seen since D-Day the fine folks from Calgary radio station The Fan 960 released a fairly humorous (if somewhat insensitive) parody of “Lola” by The Kinks.
The song, aptly titled “Goal-a,” captures every ounce of the red-faced [...]
Last night, the Coyotes went into San Jose and lost 2-0. Evgeni Nabokov was once again amazing against the Coyotes who he now has 6 career shutouts against. Phoenix put up a valiant effort and was in the game until the empty net goal at the end that sealed the deal.
One big reason the Coyotes [...]
