40 Bold Fantasy Hockey Predictions

They may seem outrageous and in no such way plausible, but when it comes to fantasy hockey, you need to be bold. Here are 40 bold fantasy hockey projections for the upcoming season that I strongly believe in. Keep in mind that there is a strong chance I will be completely wrong on some of these, so take it with a grain of salt as it is just a way to have fun. 2. Tyler Seguin takes off with his new team, hitting the 80 point mark. Loui Eriksson does well with Boston but doesn’t surpass 60 points due to all the balanced scoring.

  1. Justin Schultz was just tied 12th in D scoring. Far from bold to say top 10.

Also, unless Hall has a major injury, I doubt Eberle outscores him. This is the same Hall that was just 9th in league scoring despite a below career average SH% this year. Did I mention he was 21?

  2. 1. Slava Voynov notches 50 points and finishing amongst the top 10 NHL blueliners in scoring.
not really bold since everyone assumes Muzzin fails to have the same impact and Doughty is relied upon in more defensive situations

    2. Tyler Seguin takes off with his new team, hitting the 80 point mark. Loui Eriksson does well with Boston but doesn’t surpass 60 points due to all the balanced scoring.
by bold you mean Seguin is playing alongside Benn all season and collects lots of assists and Loui does what all Boston forwards do in their timeshare system.

    3. Taylor Hall leads the Oilers in goals once again but Jordan Eberle leads the team in points.
Someone other than Hall leading in goals would be bold, Since RNH will miss at least 25% of the schedule with injury Eberle is the default top point producer.

    4. Roberto Luongo returns to being a top five fantasy goaltender, breaking 40 wins.
this one is actually bold as you are predicting he does something he only ever accomplished once, also not gonna happen. he won’t see 70 plus games played in an Olympic compacted season.

    5. Jonathan Drouin wins the Calder trophy, falling just short of hitting the 60 point mark.
Drouin is the odds on favorite as Calder winner in Tampa’s offense, should he line up alongside Stamkos and St. Louis.
once again not bold, I think 60 points is low balling in this scenario

    6. Erik Karlsson and Kris Letang fight for the defenseman scoring title all year with Karlsson finishing with less than a five point lead over Letang.
boldly predicting Letang plays in 72 contests

    7. John Tavares hits 90 points for the first time in his career.
    ummmm not bold!!! 100 plus

    8. Ryan Kesler bounces back for Vancouver with a 30 goal, 60 points season.
sorta bold Kesler is capable of more, Tortorella i don’t think so.

    9. Daniel Alfredsson doesn’t surpass 50 points with the Detroit Red Wings.
also sorta bold, also wrong i can see Alfie putting up 60 with Weiss and you name the other winger, or even more should he get time with Datsyuk and Z, he won’t spend as much time on the ice, as the Wings won’t require him to kill penalties, as well as i can see the Wings leading the league in PPTOI in a bigger slower Eastern Conference, and Alfie seeing lots of PP1 time.

    10. Brayden Schenn has a breakout year with the Flyers, potting 20 goals and 65 points.
    No Comment, hate the Flyers

    11. Not a single player on the New Jersey Devils breaks 60 points.
you call this bold??? what you are basically saying is Patrick Elias will not break 60

    12. At least five players on the Edmonton Oilers break 60 points.
bold would be 6 and naming them, but then we would all see that Hall, RNH, Eberle, Perron, Gagner, and Yakupov should all break 60 points easily in a full season of wide open Edmonton offense.
bold would be: they all have positive plus/minus numbers

    13. Sven Baertschi puts together an impressive campaign with the Flames, coming close to the 50 point mark.
I reckon 42 points is close enough, though i think this is also in the not bold category.
while predicting anything in Calgary is somewhat bold
a skill player on a top line as is the forecast for Baertschi for merely a bump over .50 PPG is not bold.

    14. A finally healthy Mike Green returns to being an elite fantasy hockey defenseman, finishing with 50 points.
this is bold however elite for Green should be 60 plus

    15. With more scoring in ST.Louis, David Backes fails to crack 50 points.
MORE SCORING IN ST LOUIS is Bold
Backes not cracking 50 is not
however the two go hand in hand Backes is not breaking 50 and Hitchcock can’t get a PP to work, scoring does not increase in St Louis

    16. Logan Couture proves to be the best fantasy option on the San Jose Sharks.
remind me again when he wasn’t the best option on the Sharks?
was it 2010-11 which should have been his rookie campaign had they just played him in one fewer in 2009-10? and even then he was a very close 2nd to Marleau

    17. Jakub Voracek builds on his breakout season with the Flyers, hitting 70 points.
    See #10

    18. Mike Ribeiro is the only player on Phoenix to crack 60 points.
sorta like saying Elias won’t break 60, not bold.

    19. Cory Schneider finishes with more wins than Martin Brodeur.
ummm not bold does this mean he wins 20 to Marty’s 19?

    20. Tyson Barrie breaks out with a 40 point season for the Avalanche, becoming a fixture on the team’s top power-play unit.
this is expected not bold however wrong. As long as he is the best they have at QB the Av’s will struggle.

    21. Shea Weber doesn’t crack 50 points.
This is wildly bold, if Weber doesn’t crack 50 nobody in Nashville will

    22. Jonathan Huberdeau leads the Florida Panthers in scoring.
and the other options are? Versteeg? Fleischmann? Campbell?
the logical option is not bold

    23. Justin Schultz finishes among the top ten in defensemen scoring.
i believe last season many had him pegged for top 5 so top 10 is rather feeble once again giving the optimism surrounding the offense.

    24. Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg both finish with 70 points.
70 points seems a bare minimum for this dynamic pairing. Not Bold

    25. Nathan MacKinnon comes close to 50 points in his first NHL season.
puts him right in line with where he should be challenging for a Calder Trophy

    26. Jeff Skinner has a monster fantasy year, notching 25 goals and 60 points.
remind me the last time a 60 point 25 goal season was a monster season for a one dimensional skill player?

    27. Alexander Ovechkin puts together a 40 goal season, leading the NHL in power-play goals again.
isn’t this supposed to be what he does? Bold?

    28. Jake Gardiner almost finishes with as many points as Dion Phaneuf.
so what your saying is they will each score points at nearly the same rate. interesting

    29. Steven Stamkos finishes with the most points in the NHL.
kinda bold since his assists will be diminished somewhat by scoring on setups from Drouin, not gonna happen though Tavares takes it this season and that’s not bold just the trajectory he is on.

    30. Patrick Wiercioch becomes a well known name in fantasy hockey.
this is bold since most fantasy hockey players still can’t spell Setoguchi!

    31. P.K Subban breaks 60 points with the Montreal Canadiens.
i’d have said breaks 70 to give it a bit more flavor, not bold

    32. Danny Briere surprisingly puts together a 20 goal, 50 point season with his new team
once again boldly predicting a skill player to play 70 plus games

    33. Cody Hodgson leads the Sabres in points.
so the Vanek deal is official, where is he going, i want bold!!

    34. Tyler Myers finally bounces back with a 45 point season on the blueline for Buffalo.
oh there’s the bold Buffalo prediction, sorry to break it to you
Vanek is dealt Myers doesn’t sniff 30

    35. Gabriel Landeskog becomes a top fantasy player with a 25 goal, 60 point season.
the bounceback is always a good prediction, not bold as this is what i expect from the Av’s Captain more SOG

    36. Mikhail Grabovski surpasses 60 points in his first season as a Capital.
You have a thing for top six skill players reaching there bare minimums

    37. Devin Setoguchi becomes relevant in fantasy hockey once again, potting 20 goals.
    how bold is that?
he has failed to do so once since his rookie year, tallying 19 Goals in 69 GP in 2011-12
you want bold… predict he will top the 30 assist mark for the second time in 6 seasons!!

    38. David Clarkson scores 20 goals with the Leafs but doesn’t break 40 points.
yeah seems a rather safe bold prediction,
    i like mine better
David Clarkson throws 300 plus soft shots into goalies chests and scores fewer than 20 goals and less than 35 points.

    39. Brad Richards rebounds with a 60 point season.
apparently $150,000.00 per point is what they are paying him for.
way to set that bar high Brad, when 60 points is a bounceback you know you’ve beat the system

    40. Paul Bissonnette pots 30 goals.
    BOLD finally I like it
oh this was a joke? and the others?
