Ingram was awesome in the playoffs, so assuming the scouts were watching, he should be a riser after getting passed over last year. Ingram can’t be compared to Dubnyk because he’s much shorter, but he’s similar to Dustin Tokarski, who backstopped Spokane to a Memorial Cup. Both are alums of the Prince Albert Mintos midget program and both hail from small-town Saskatchewan.
107) Detroit Red Wings — Kasper Bjorkqvist (LW, Blues Jr., Finland)

Despite already taking a goalie, the Red Wings might have wanted Ingram here too, considering he attended their prospect camp last summer.

I must give a stick tap to Elliotte Friedman for tipping me off to Golyshev, who is already 21 (born in 1995) but remains draft eligible rather than a free agent like Panarin was when Chicago signed him out of Russia last spring. Golyshev’s stat-line in the KHL speaks to his skill level and is quite comparable to Panarin’s from the previous season when the Calder favourite scored 26 goals in 54 KHL games (albeit with more assists to total 62 points).

Anderson had a rough draft year injury-wise, but he came into the WHL as a third overall bantam draft pick from 2013, so he’s always had good upside. Bob McKenzie’s scouts still like Anderson, ranking him 61st.

I see Thurkauf getting picked at some point and, if not Calgary, then possibly Philadelphia, which took Tyrell Goulbourne out of Kelowna but out of nowhere a few years ago (third round in 2013).

ANALYSIS: A German friend for Leon Draisaitl, Wiederer was impressive during his first season in North America as a 19-year-old. The Oilers have drafted well out of Germany in years past, also picking Tobias Rieder. Edmonton could also opt for a fourth right-handed defenceman, with a few intriguing options available here, including a couple over-age college prospects. Quinnipiac’s Chase Priskie might top that list as a freshman who exceeded expectations to get on the draft radar. Priskie has some similarities to Jordan Oesterle, who made a good impression on Edmonton’s coaching staff this past season. Michigan State’s Zach Osburn possesses a booming shot but is also on the small side at 5-11, 185. Osborn is more of a Brad Hunt type. It’s unlikely that Edmonton would select three righties under six-feet tall, and Priskie isn’t much bigger either (6-0, 190). There’s also the chance of a sentimental pick in Blake Coffey — yes, the son of Paul and a righty unlike his dad. However, this Coffey had a rough draft year playing Junior A in Ontario, so he’ll probably be passed over and perhaps get an invite to Edmonton’s prospect development camp.

The Sabres signed Jack Eichel’s college linemate, Evan Rodrigues, so it wouldn’t be shocking if Reinhart’s former wingman wound up in Buffalo’s organization this offseason too.

Sarthou was also very good for Team USA at the U18s with 1.15 goals-against average and .927 save percentage in five appearances. Colton Point and Jeremy Helvig out of Ontario are quality netminders too, but I just couldn’t resist another Russian forward to the Hawks.
