Dear Blue Jackets,
When, oh when, are you going to stop taking us on this roller coaster ride that is being a fan of the Blue Jackets? Our emotions have gone thrrough so many contortions that a bowl of spaghetti looks like a stright line of pasta. The high of highs, such as when we landed an NHL team in Cowtown. The lowest of lows, like when Napoleon Foote forced you to trade him; all the while lying to us fans that had counted on him to have INTEGRITY as our Captain. And, of course everything in between. Win a big game then lose a clunker.

The newest roller coaster
We aren’t really asking all that much from you. Just give us a chance. A chance to enjoy a winning streak. A chance to tell all the pundits “see, we told you, they are for real”. A chance at the post-season. Even if you don’t make make it past the first round of the playoffs, we would be happy. Not ecstatic, no; just happy. We know you have talent. We know you have pride. We want to see the commitment from you. We’ve stuck with you for quite a few years (well… 8 years, but who’s counting?) and are ready to move to the next step.
We don’t expect you to win Lord Stanleys Cup this year. Give us something to hang our hats on. We are a very proud and loyal bunch of fans. We love the fact that you are here in our great city playing hockey. From the Blue Hairs in the lower bowl to those of us that sit up where the air is thin, we cheer you on with reckless abandon. We love our Columbus Blue Jackets.
We’ve seen glimpses of the chemistry that is forming amongst the players. We need for you to grab that brass ring and run with it. We won’t give up on you, so don’t you give up on us.
Sincerely,
The fans of the Columbus Blue Jackets
