The Buffalo Sabres were established in 1970, along with the Vancouver Canucks, when the league expanded to 14 teams. Although the Sabres have yet to win a Stanley Cup, they have qualified for the postseason 29 times and reached the Stanley Cup Final twice, once in 1975 and again in 1999.
