Canadiens Try to Avoid The Sweep in Game 4

habs_85671One words comes to mind when the brooms start coming out of the closet – desperation.

Truth is, there is not much desperation in any part of the Montreal Canadiens hockey or locker room this post-season.

Only three players have found the back of the Boston Bruins net in three games – Alex Kovalev, Chris Higgins, and Yannick Weber.  And the defense has left Carey Price out to dry on more than on occasion.

Now with their Centennial season on the line and looking harder to recover with each passing minute of the series, the Canadiens fate has long been sealed since Game 1′s late penalty to Josh Gorges.

Not putting all the blame on Gorges or the penalty, but the Canadiens are playing a better hockey team, one that wants to win, one that gets pucks deep and forechecks hard to win the pucks.

Those parts are completely missing from the Canadiens game and the fans have voiced their opinions loudly and obnoxiously, by booing both the team and the American national anthem.

And this isn’t the first time they’ve been told to stop.

But all other distractions aside, the Canadiens are banged up with Tanguay a game-time decision, and Schneider, Markov, Lang, Bouillon, and Brisebois out.

It’s do or die time for the Canadiens in their 100th season.

And didn’t it start with so much promise?
