The Columbus Blue Jackets announced Saturday that they have signed defenseman Kris Russell to a 3 year extension. The deal will pay Russell $1.3 million/year for a total of $3.9 million. In his career with Columbus, Russell is 4-28-32, 42 PIMs in 137 games. He was 67th overall pick by Columbus in the 2005 Entry Draft.
“Kris is an important player for us, not only in the present, but in the future,” Said GM Scott Howson. “We believe he has just scratched the surface of his potential.”
