Boston Bruins 2 Tampa Bay Lightning 0
Game 3; Bruins lead series 2-1

Thirty-one shots on goal were not enough for the Lightning to get past Boston’s Tim Thomas.

The Bruins would open up the scoring just a minute and nine seconds into the game as David Krejci would go backhand on Dwayne Roloson off of a pass by Milian Lucic. Halfway through the period Bruins Gregory Campbell and Lightning’s Simon Gagne would sit for coincidental roughing penalties; but the game would hit the first intermission in Tampa with Boston leading by one.

Second period would see each team play with the man advantage twice; but neither goalie would give up a goal in the period.

The third period would see the Bruins increase their lead to two when Andrew Ference would tip-in a shot from Michael Ryder just over eight minutes into the period.

Boston now leads the series 2-1 after winning games two and three; game four is Saturday at 1:30 p.m. EST on Versus, CBC, and RDS
