Coming from a shutout in Detriot, expectations were high that Nashville’s return to Bridgestone on Monday would be triumphant. The result was a shutout that left Nashville in shock. The final score was 4-0 with the Oilers taking home a big, unexpected win.
Nashville at Detroit February 9th, 2011
Nashville managed to move past their performance issues on Wednesday to shut out the Red Wings to the tune of four points to their fruitless effort to get more than one puck into Nashville’s net. The usual challenges that come with playing at the Joe: rough ice, a team that at times seems to effectively isolate the opposing goalie and screen them for the entire game and Babcock’s muscly offense couldnt withstand Nashville’s need to play past the shock of Monday.
Colorado at Nashville February 12th, 2011
The first appearance on the ice by new acquisition Mike Fisher and what would come to be the final NHL appearance by former Predator Peter Forsberg proved to be a good night for the fans, the Predators, who added a 3 to 5 victory over the Avs to their stats. Mike Fisher’s move to Nashville created quite a buzz in sports and entertainment circles as fans from both worlds went on a search for sightings of Nashville’s newest residents.
Week 18 includes three home games against Vancouver, San Jose and Phoenix.
