Red Wings Announce Traverse City Roster

The Detroit Red Wings have announced their roster for the 2016 Traverse City Prospects Tournament, which they will host in Traverse City, Michigan. There, they will battle for the Matthew Wuest Memorial Cup against prospect squads from seven other NHL clubs, including the Carolina Hurricanes, Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, New York Rangers and St. Louis Blues.

The team will be highlighted by five picks from the first two rounds of recent drafts, including 2016 first-round draft pick (19th overall) Evgeny Svechnikov. Red Wings fans will also get a good look at 2013 second-round picks Tyler Bertuzzi and Zach Nastasiuk

On the blue line, roster highlights include Joe Hicketts, who played a big role for the Canadian national team at the 2016 and 2015 World Juniors Championship, as well as Robbie Russo who was solid in his first pro season after not getting a contract from the New York Islanders. His development may prove to be a steal of a signing for Detroit.
