Soon to be unrestricted free agent Jay Bouwmeester’s rights were traded at the 2009 draft to the Calgary Flames in return for the rights to defenseman Jordan Leopold and a 3rd round selection with which the Florida selected RW Josh Birkholz out of the USHL.
