RJ, I agree! However, in defense of the author I guess until you put them all in a speed skating competition, it’s all biased opinion.

Helm as an honorable mention? What a joke. Not only is he the fastest player in hockey, but he’d leave everyone on that list at least a couple feet behind him. His only true competition would’ve been Bure and I can’t see Bure beating the kid. He’s the fastest skater I’ve ever seen in 30+ years of watching hockey.

Really, is Marleau really only 9th? Why is the west so underrated? I’ve seen Marleau pull distance on players listed faster than him on this list.

Helm is a Wing this year, no longer a call-up. He earned a roster spot in the playoffs last year. If you need further proof of his speed, I would refer to his “instant legend” penalty kill in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals last year. It exemplifies how quickly he can turn and how he uses his legs to play keep-away. I know several people have already mentioned that the exclusion of Helm on the list is absurd, but I just can’t help but also put in my .02.

The Draper-Helm-Eaves line currently in play for the Wings has to be one of the fastest lines in hockey right now, I’m amazed that not one of them made the list
