Vermette Inks 5 Year Deal with CBJ

Antoine Vermette decided he really liked Columbus. So much so that he signed a 5 year deal to the tune of $18.75 million  with the Blue Jackets that will see him make $3.75 million a year. His current deal pays him $2.76 million through the end of this season. From Tom Reed at Puck Rakers“I like it here and I like the way the team is shaping up and how it looks and I wanted to commit for long term,” Vermette said. “It’s a young team with a lot of potential and the best years are in front of them. There is a really nice challenge for all of us.” He’s only played 17 regular season (7-6-13) games in Union Blue, but GM Scott Howson liked what he saw. He was also big in helping the Blue Jackets make the playoffs.
