Calgary Flames

Andrew Knoll is our Flames correspondent.

I am a writer, editor, educator and entrepreneur from Southern California though I have lived in New York, Philadelphia, Amsterdam and Medellin as well.

My main interests are team sports (hockey, basketball, football, baseball and track & field), international affairs, basketball shoes, music and the law.  In my free time I like to travel as much as possible with my goal being to fill my passport pages before it expires.  I speak Spanish and I am learning French.

Previously I have taught at Temple University where I earned a Master’s Degree in journalism and worked as an editor on The New York Times sports desk.  I currently operate a small sports shoe and memorabilia business and I am available for freelance work reporting, editing or scouting.

The sports figure I admire most is John Wooden and I would encourage everyone to live by his words:
“Make each day your masterpiece.”

Feel free to contact me at any time to talk about the Flames, Philly sports, sneakers or whatever else is on your mind at
