Not having a problem with TGO’s high salary and horrible coaching WAS a big problem in itself!
He burried this team in debt as much as the shitty, non ticket buying fans did!

W is all class, business and family. I have never met more of a man who knows when to speak and when not, and when to act and when not. More than a player, a coach, a husband, but a man to admire.

If the Coyotes didn’t have a problem with Gretzky’s salary or the head coach/partial owner scenario, why should anyone else?

Wasn’t TGO collecting an enormous paycheck while coaching?
He was also drawing income as a partial owner.
That’s a real stand up guy right there. Do anything for his team, huh???

Seems to me that Mr. Gretzky as always conducted himself with nothing but class. He didn’t take the ‘yotes coaching position to make himself look good (obviously) because the team was under fiscal guidelines to spend as little as possible. He took it because it was available and it was a challenge he wanted.

The sad truth of the “Phoenix Coyotes” situation is there’s no one in the stands. All the finger pointing in the world’s not going to change the fact that hockey is dead in that market. Through it all, absolutely no one in that organization has spoken ill of or has in any way been critical of Wayne Gretzky. That silence speaks volumes and is clear testimony to Gretzky’s record of unblemished integrity in this game.
