Vancouver Canucks 2 Nashville Predators 1 Canucks claim series
Taking control of the game early with two goals in the first put the Canucks in a good spot last night for finally closing out their series with the Predators.
Mason Raymond scored his first of the post season just under eight minutes into the game when he went backhand on Pekka Rinne. It would be an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty to Nashhille’s Jordin Tootoo just over a minute later that would see Vancouver’s Daniel Sedin take score the game winning goal – just 9:28 into the game.
The second period would see Predator’s David Legwand put Nashville on the board at home. It would be the last goal of the season for the Predators at 3:31 in the second period.
It was not a high shooting game as Roberto Luongo only faced 24 shots from the Predators; but he only allowed the one by Legwand past him. Rinne on the other hand allowed two out of 19 past him.
The Canucks will move on to the Western Conference finals and face the winner of the San Jose Sharks / Detroit Red Wings series which is heading into game six tonight with the Sharks up 3-2 in the series.

Uptown Sports Management made a name for itself yesterday; but probably not the name it is going to be happy with when the fallout is over with. Yesterday Uptown Sports took a stand against New York Rangers Sean Avery and his support of marriage equality.
