San Jose Sharks 1 Detroit Red Wings 3 Game 6 – series tied 3-3
It took Detroit 45 shots on Sharks goaltender Antti Niemi for the Red Wings to win in their third straight possible elimination game, but the series is now tied and both teams face elimination in the next game.
Sharks Logan Couture would be the one to open the scoring in the game. At 3:54 of the third period Couture would put a wrist shot past Jimmy Howard and hope would seem to be lost for Hockeytown. Luckily for Detroit it would be the only goal for the Sharks for the night.
It would be nearly ten minutes before Detroit’s Valtteri Filppula would set up a shot for Red Wings defenseman Niklas Kronwall that would be tipped-in by fellow Swede Henrik Zetterberg to tie the game at one.
Detroit’s superstar Pavel Datsyuk may not have scored a goal but is work while playing with an injured hand is beyond amazing. It would be Datsyuk to the set up the game winning goal less than two minutes after the Zetterberg goal that would see Filppula score his second goal of the playoffs.
With Detroit having a one goal lead the Sharks would pull Antti Niemi for the extra skater and see Red Wings speedster Darren Helm score an empty netter for an insurance goal.
The series has been extended to a game seven in San Jose tomorrow.

Uptown Sports Management made a name for itself earlier this week; but probably not the name it is going to be happy with when the fallout is over with. Uptown Sports took a stand against New York Rangers Sean Avery and his support of marriage equality.
