Nashville Predators 4 Vancouver Canucks 3 Game 5; Sharks lead series 3-2
The Predators wont go down without a fight. Facing elimination from the playoffs in Vancouver the Predators fought back to send the series back to Nashville – where they have yet to beat the Canucks this series.
It took just over three and a half minutes into the game for Predators Sergei Kostitsyn to take a penalty for holding the stick to give the Canucks the man advantage. Just 11 seconds into Vancouver’s power play it would be Nashville’s David Legwanrd that would put the puck past Roberto Luongo to give the Predators a short handed goal for the first lead of the game.
Just over two minutes later it would be Raffi Torres with his first of the post season to tie the game. It would take nearly ten minutes before Ryan Kesler would give the Canucks the lead before heading to intermission.
Scoring early has become sort of a niche for David Legwand as he would score his second of the game just 51 seconds into the second period to tie the game up again.
The third period would see Nashville’s Joel Ward score twice to put the Predators up 4-2 over the Canucks before Kesler would score his second of the game to make it a one goal game with just under four minutes left.
