2015 Dallas Stars Draft Preview
As previously mentioned in my 3 Reasons for Potential Stars Draft Day Trade article, I won’t be shocked if the Stars trade their pick. They won’t find immediate help with the #12 overall pick and their most pressing needs (defensive/physical defenseman and goaltending) are available on the trade block. Recently Stars beat reported Mike Heika also suggested the possibility of trading their 1st round pick.
Staff: Jim Nill GM, Joe McDonnell Stars Director of Amateur Scouting, Kari Takko Director of European Scouting, Head Professional Scout Paul McIntosh, Professional Scout Danny O’Brien, Professional Scout Doug Overton, Amateur Scout Bob Gernander, Amateur Scout Dennis Holland, Amateur Scout Jiri Hrdina,Amateur Scout Jimmy Johnston, Amateur Scout Mark Leach, Amateur Scout Alex LePore, Amateur Scout Rickard Oquist, Amateur Scout Boris Protsenko and Amateur Scout Shane Turner.
McDonnell Says: During a recent radio interview on Stars Sunday, McDonnel confirmed the Stars list of top 12 prospects is consistent with the names everyone has been hearing. He also emphasized the history of late round success his staff has had in Dallas and Detroit. McDonnell confirmed the Stars will get a really good player at #12.
