The Philadelphia Flyers have announced the roster for their Alumni Game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on January 14. The game will celebrate the club’s 50th anniversary by pitting an alumni roster against the team’s cross-state rival.
The weekend will feature players from all five decades of the team’s existence.
“This game is a celebration of the past 50 years of Flyers Hockey,” said Brad Marsh, president of the Flyers Alumni Association. “To bring five decades’ worth of players and fans together to share in the one thing we all have in common – fiercely representing the orange and black – that’s not something that happens every day.”
While it’s not the full roster at this time, the team has already confirmed the participation of Bob Clarke, Bill Barber, Reggie Leach, Bob Kelly, Orest Kindrachuk, Joe Watson, Jim Watson, Tim Kerr, Dave Poulin, Brian Propp, Murray Craven, Mark Howe, Brad Marsh, Kjell Samuelsson, Eric Lindros, John LeClair, Luke Richardson, Terry Carkner, Danny Briere, Simon Gagne, Eric Desjardins and Brian Boucher.
The Alumni Game will take place January 14 at the Wells Fargo Center.
