The Tampa Bay Lightning announced this week that top-six forward Ryan Callahan will miss at least five months after undergoing surgery to repair a labral tear in his right hip.
Not only will that adversely impact his offseason training, but Callahan will no longer be a part of the Team USA roster at the World Cup of Hockey.
Callahan put up 10 goals and 28 points in 73 games last season, his lowest output since the 2007-08 season.
