Maple Leafs Minute: Draft Party in the Square!

There’s a party happening in Maple Leafs Square, and Leafs Nation, you’re invited!

While there are varying degrees of speculation as to who the Maple Leafs will draft come Friday June 26th, one thing is certain…it’s time to celebrate the future!

And what better way to celebrate than with a free party, hosted by the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Fans will have an opportunity to enjoy some free food (but only for the first 300 through the gates), five-dollar beers, and appearances by current Maple Leafs and Leafs alumni.

With corporate backing from various sponsors, party-goers will also have the chance to win various prizes. The impressive list of giveaways includes a pair of seasons tickets, and one hour of ice-time at the ACC with Wendel Clark.

It sounds like this is going to be one really fun Friday evening, and with the dynamic duo of Joe Bowen and Lauren Howe hosting the festivities, fans will have an opportunity to wear their Maple Leafs apparel with beaming pride.

There’s a lot of speculation and discussion as to who the Maple Leafs will pick with their two first round draft choices.

Adding to the possible excitement on draft night, are the recent rumours about big names being traded out of Toronto, including the likes of Phil Kessel.

If the Maple Leafs brass pull a big trade on draft night, it’ll be very interesting to see the varying reactions from the crowd attending the party in the square.

The draft party is a great concept, and a really nice gesture from the Maple Leafs and MLSE to the fans.

Sure we’d much rather have a Stanley Cup parade to celebrate, but maybe we’ll look back on the 2015 NHL Draft as that pivotal moment when the Maple Leafs drafted those players destined to lead Toronto back to Stanley Cup glory.

Once again, admission is free, and all the fun starts at 5pm on Friday June 26th at Maple Leafs Square.

But please, party responsibly…

…don’t be like Phil.
