After their worst performance of the season against Detroit on Wednesday, the Bruins bounced back with a win over the New York Rangers this afternoon. With the win, Boston stretched their conference lead to three points.
Marchand Heating Up?
In today’s win, Brad Marchand looked like the Brad Marchand of old. He was using his speed to make things happen and he was involved physically. He was the #2 star of the game with a goal and an assist.
Healthy Returns
On Wednesday, Adam McQuaid made his return to the Bruins lineup, ending rookie Kevan Miller’s three game stint in Boston. Today, Dennis Seidenberg returned to action, restoring the Bruins surplus of NHL defensemen, and sending Matt Bartkowski back to the press box. Going forward, the defensive rotation will bear watching.
Tuukka Wearing Down?
With a horrendous performance Wednesday and a less than stellar start to the game this afternoon, it might be time to start giving Tuukka Rask some rest. Rask has started all but four games this season. In his first full NHL season as the #1 starter, the Bruins would be wise to rest Rask when the opportunity presents itself, to keep him fresh for the playoffs.
