Video: Fantastic Finnish Call of Donskoi’s OT Winner

Joonas Donskoi was the hero in Saturday’s Game 3 tilt between the San Jose Sharks and Pittsburgh Penguins, scoring just over 12 minutes into overtime.

It was a huge moment for the Sharks, who were able to make the series 2-1 instead entering Game 4 in an elimination scenario, which is probably part of why Brent Burns called the goal “pretty badass.”

Somewhat predictably, fans in Donskoi’s native Finland felt the same way. His overtime heroics were met with an incredibly enthusiastic call from Antti Makinen on the Finnish broadcast of Game 3.

JOOOOOONAS DOOOON SKOOOOOIIII!

The Finnish rookie is in his first year in North America after playing with Karpat in the Finnish Liiga for years after having been drafted and not signed by the Florida Panthers. He currently leads all players in the Stanley Cup Final with three points (1-2-3). There are 12 players who have two points each.
