Josh Manson Injured in Friday’s Game

Anaheim Ducks defenseman Josh Manson took a big hit to the head from Nashville’s Filip Forsberg at the end of the first period of Friday’s game. The hit left him lying on the ice before he went down the tunnel.

He didn’t return to the ice to start the second period and the Ducks announced at the end of the frame that he was being ruled out of the rest of the game with an upper-body injury.

Forsberg did not receive a penalty on the play, and the Ducks were forced to play two periods of the game with just five defenders on the bench.

Here’s another look at the play.

The Predators wound up taking Game 1 with a 3-2 win.

The 24-year-old Manson had five goals and 15 points through 71 games this season. It was just his second NHL season and his first full season.
