The New York Rangers have one of the most dedicated and passionate fanbases in the NHL. The Blueshirts have fans all around the globe, and followers of the team can keep their finger on the pulse of all things Rangers–even if they’re half a world away–as long as they know who to follow. And that’s the purpose of this guide: to give fans a one-stop shop for the best in New York Rangers social media.
Please note that this is intended to be a living, breathing document, so if there is anyone who you feel has been missed, please leave a comment and we’ll get their information in here.
New York Rangers / Hartford Wolf Pack:
The team’s official website has a great deal of information and news stories about the team, including news on the team’s community outreach events and history. The Rangers’ affiliated site, Blueshirts United, is a content-rich site provided for Rangers fans with its own dedicated beat writer (Jim Cerny) covering all the latest Rangers happenings. Many Rangers players have their own Twitter accounts and all are worth a follow for Rangers fans. And don’t forget the Rangers AHL affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack, so you can keep tabs on the future of the Blueshirts.

Beat Writers:
Many fantastic writers cover the Rangers on a day-in & day-out basis. Some of the best are Pat Leonard of The New York Daily News, Larry Brooks of The New York Post, Andrew Gross of The Record (NJ), and Steve Zipay of Newsday. These men are at just about every practice, game and press conference; at home and on the road. With that level of access, they usually know breaking news before anyone else, and are a “must follow” for anyone who wants to be the first to know, and should be first on the list of Rangers social media accounts.
Best of the Rest:
Along with the beat writers, there are many other great sources of information regarding the team, ranging from broadcasters to newspaper writers to website writers and even a former Rangers GM. The MSG Network’s on-air personalities provide good information and have a great deal of hockey knowledge. Another good source of analysis is the Hockey Rodent, whose full service website (don’t call it a blog!) provides a number of excellent features, including a constantly updating “Berth-O-Meter” which gives an up-to-the-second assessment of the Blueshirts’ chances of securing a playoff berth down the stretch. Depth of analysis is the Rodent’s strong suit–you’ll find insight there that you won’t get anywhere else, along with a good dose of humor and snark.
