New York Sirens Trade Jincy Roese to the Minnesota Frost for Denisa Krizova

Monday, March 30, was the Professional Women’s Hockey League’s (PWHL) trade deadline. In the past two seasons, there was a trade on the day of the deadline, and once again, in the third season, there was a trade right before 5 PM ET. The New York Sirens traded defender Jincy Roese to the Minnesota Frost in exchange for defender Denisa Krizova

Roese was a recent addition to the Sirens during the offseason, after spending the first two seasons with Ottawa. She played in 51 games and recorded 19 points. With the Sirens, she played in 22 games and recorded six assists.

Roese was with a contender previously and wants the chance to be in the playoff push again. She is a valuable asset to any blue line. They just lost Natalie Buchbinder in the game against the Montreal Victoire, and she did not play on Sunday. Hopefully, she is not out for long, but just in case, Roese will help the Frost’s blue line greatly.

Krizova played her first two seasons in the PWHL with Minnesota, where she played all 54 games and recorded 15 points. She also played in 18 postseason games and scored two goals in the 2024 season. Krizova helped Minnesota win the first two Walter Cup Championships, so she has great postseason experience that will be valuable to the Sirens as they push for their first playoff run this season.

Krizova was claimed by the Vancouver Goldeneyes in the expansion draft, but before the season began, they traded her back to the Frost in exchange for Anna Segedi. This season with the Frost, she has five points in five games. The Sirens are already hurting for forwards, with the absence of Taylor Girard and Kristyna Kaltounkova, so Krizova will slot in nicely to their current lineup.

The Frost and the Sirens will play against each other on Wednesday, April 1, at the Prudential Center.
