All good things come to an end, as did the Winnipeg Jets‘ 11-game winning streak on Tuesday night. The Nashville Predators (21-30-7) defeated the Jets (42-15-3) 2-1 at Bridgestone Arena, thanks to two first period goals and 23 saves by Juuse Saros. Filip Forsberg and Tommy Novak scored for the Predators.

Neal Pionk scored the only goal for Winnipeg, and Eric Comrie made 28 saves.

The Predators came out firing, outshooting the Jets 14-6 in the first period. Forsberg opened up the scoring at 4:26, after Ryan O’Reilly won a faceoff in the offensive zone and Gustav Nyquist quickly passed the puck to Forsberg, who beat Comrie for his 22nd goal of the season.
At 11:05, Rasmus Kupari rimmed a pass around the right boards to Pionk, who slapped it home from the blue line for his 9th of the campaign. Tommy Novak restored the lead for Nashville at 15:29 on the power play, after a Jets turnover behind the net.

The Jets outshot the Preds 14-6 in the second frame, but failed to capitalize on five minutes of power play time, including a 5-on-3, keeping the score 2-1 going into the final 20 minutes.
Saros made some huge saves for the Predators down the stretch, sealing the victory for the home side.
Nashville outshot the Jets 30-24 and went 1-for-3 on the power play. The Jets went 0-for-4 with the man advantage.

Both teams are back in action on Saturday. The Predators will be on Long Island to take on the New York Islanders, while the Jets will host the Philadelphia Flyers.
