Winnipeg Jets’ captain Adam Lowry has been named the team’s nominee for the 2024-25 King Clancy Memorial Trophy. The King Clancy is presented to the player who “best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution in his community.”
Lowry, in his second season as Jets captain and 11th season since being drafted 67th overall in 2011, has been an ambassador of the Toba Centre for Children & Youth since 2022.
The Toba Centre (formerly Snowflake Place) “was created in 2013 to provide a safe, child-friendly setting for children impacted by abuse or witness to violence, and their caregivers, to meet with service providers and to be interviewed by highly trained forensic interviewers,” as per their website. Services expanded in 2020 with the addition of case navigation support services aimed at ensuring the well-being and recovery of children and their families. Their office is located in Winnipeg’s Assiniboine Park.

Lowry frequently visits the Toba Centre, has represented them at various events and charity golf tournaments, and has established personal relationships with some of the kids Toba Centre supports.
“Throughout my career, I’ve received tremendous support from my community,” Lowry said in 2023 ahead of that season’s Child Advocacy Game. “Being able to lend my voice and platform, to shed light on the great work that Toba Centre does is my way of giving back to the community.”
