Jets’ Connor Hellebuyck Named NHL’s Third Star of the Week

Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck has been named the NHL’s Third Star for the week of March 24-30.

Hellebuyck, already miles ahead in the Vezina Trophy race, went 3-0-0 last week while posting a 1.00 goals against average (GAA,) .961 save percentage (SV%,) and capturing his seventh shutout of the season Friday versus the New Jersey Devils.

This is the 31 year old’s fifth time being named an NHL Star of the Week this season and he now has two First Star nods, one Second Star nod, and two Third Star nods to his name. He owns a 43-10-3 record, 2.01 GAA, .925 SV%, and has saved 38.2 goals above expected on the season.

The Dallas Stars’ Roope Hintz and Tampa Bay Lightning’s Nikita Kucherov were named Second and First Stars, respectively.
