Jets’ Morrissey to Miss “Good Chunk of Time” With Upper-Body Injury

Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey will miss a “good chunk of time” with the upper-body injury he suffered at the 2026 Winter Olympics, as per Darren Dreger.

Morrissey sustained the undisclosed injury in Canada’s opening preliminary game versus Czechia on Feb. 12 that kept him out of the rest of the tournament. It was just more bad luck for the blue liner on the international stage as he was also not able to play in the 4 Nations Face-Off final last year due to coming down with a nasty flu virus.

Morrissey has 10 goals and 32 assists for 42 points in 56 games this season, and his absence for an extended period represents yet another blow to the Jets’ slim chances of making the playoffs: they are 11 points back of the second Western Conference wild-card spot and own a 22-26-8 record with 26 games to go.
