No. 14 Dishing it Out in 2015
Since the turn of the New Year, Gustav Nyquist and line mate, Henrik Zetterberg, have been the Wings’ best players. With 11 points each (4G, 7A for Nyquist; 5G, 6A for Zetterberg), over the past nine games, the Swedish pair have carried the Wings to five straight victories.

Whether coach Mike Babcock plays No. 14 with Tomas Tatar and Riley Sheahan or Zetterberg and Justin Abdelkader, he has been a scoring threat all season long. Nyquist is currently riding a balanced point streak, recording a goal and assist in each of his last three games while chipping in three power play points.
With his sudden burst in scoring, a 70-point season (19G, 36 Pts. through 47 GP) isn’t out of the question for Gus, in what is essentially his second year in the NHL. Nyquist, who sits second in the league for power play goals and tied for sixth among all players for power play points, has shown what confidence and ability can come from extra seasoning in the AHL.
Looking to Stay Hot
With the All-Star break overtaking the weekend, the Wings don’t return to action until they head to the BB&T Center, Tuesday, Jan. 27th, to take on the Florida Panthers, who have dropped four straight.
Nyquist, Zetterberg and Kronwall (3-game point streak) will look to stay hot against All-Star Weekend participants Roberto Luongo and rookie sensation, Aaron Ekblad (6G, 25 Pts. in 44 GP) who will both play for Team Toews in the 2015 All-Star Game.
