The U.S. National Team has added another forward, USA Hockey announced Wednesday. Minnesota Wild winger Jordan Schroeder will join the team for the upcoming 2016 World Championship in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia.
Schroeder is representing his country on the international stage for the sixth time in his career, which includes some very impressive performances in World Junior Championship tournaments. His 27 points and 20 assists (cumulative) are the most in U.S. history and 20 assists are the fourth most in tournament history.
He just finished up his second season with the Wild after coming over from the Vancouver Canucks. He didn’t see much NHL time this year, but found his way onto the roster for the final two postseason games, where he scored just seconds into his first shift.
