Devils’ Timo Meier Set to Play in His 600th NHL Game

The milestones just keep coming for New Jersey Devils players. Timo Meier will play in his 600th NHL game against the Colorado Avalanche on Feb. 26.

Meier began his NHL career with the San Jose Sharks. He was selected ninth overall in the 2015 draft and spent seven seasons with San Jose from 2016-17 until halfway through the 2022-23 season. He played in 451 games for the Sharks, scoring 154 goals and adding 162 assists for 316 points.

Exactly two years ago, Meier was traded to the Devils as part of a massive deal with Timur Ibragimov, Scott Harrington, Santeri Hatakka, Zachary Emond, and a 2024 fifth-round draft pick. In exchange, the Sharks received Fabian Zetterlund, Andreas Johnsson, Shakir Mukhamadullin, Nikita Okhotiuk, a conditional 2023 first-round draft pick, a conditional second-round 2024 draft pick, and a seventh-round 2024 draft pick.

Since joining the Devils, Meier has played in 148 games and has scored 52 goals and added 52 assists for 104 points. The left winger has certainly earned his spot in the top six, playing alongside Nico Hischier and Dawson Mercer. The trio currently make up the Devils’ second line.
