P.K. Subban Removes Montreal Canadiens Logo in Scott Gomez Tribute

Former Montreal Canadien and former teammate of P.K. Subban, Scott Gomez, recently announced his retirement. In a tribute to his old friend and colleague, Subban posted a picture of the two together, congratulating him on his retirement. The picture was taken while both men were members of the Canadiens, but there was a distinct absence of the Canadiens logo on both Subban’s, and Gomez’ helmet. While the lack of a logo may seem like a minor detail, it was clearly important enough to Subban that he went out of his way to remove it.

When the Montreal Canadiens shocked the hockey world and traded away their superstar defenseman, it sparked a ton of controversy. While the trade will always live in infamy in Canadiens history, Subban might be looking to separate himself from the franchise altogether.

The P.K. Subban and Montreal Canadiens saga is far from over as the young star will take on his former team for the first time on January 3, and he’ll return to Montreal for the first time as an opposing player on March 2. Subban will have a lot to play for in each game, and they are definitely dates worth marking off on a calendar for all hockey fans.
