Anton Khudobin Traded for James Wisniewski

As speculated earlier today, The Carolina Hurricanes have made a move to trade Anton Khudobin to the Anaheim Ducks. Heading the other way is Ducks defenseman James Wisniewski.

The move, as LeBrun notes, clears a lot of cap space for the Ducks. Wisniewski has two years left on a contract that pays him $5.5 million per year. He should be a nice fit in Carolina and that cleared space may be paving the way for the Ducks to get another deal done.

The Ducks acquired Wisniewski for their playoff run, but wound up only playing him in 13 games after the trade deadline and played former Wild defenseman Clayton Stoner in the playoffs instead of Wisniewski, who played zero games.
