The focus then shifts, of course, to the hot topic in the NHL right now, Jimmy Vesey. The Bruins are one of the teams that will be in the running for the Harvard free agent winger. Being from Boston, Vesey has an undeniable connection to the team he grew up rooting for. Mark and Rob take an interesting angle breaking down if it makes sense for Boston to sign Vesey. The glaring need on the Bruins roster appears to be on the blue line, so signing Vesey wouldn’t help fill that hole.
The duo touches on a few other topics after the Vesey conversation, including the World Cup of Hockey and the impact it will have on the Bruins. In particular, they discuss Zdeno Chara who is 39-years-old and has shown signs of slowing down.
