The Tampa Bay Lightning were founded in 1992 by a group led by NHL legend Phil Esposito. The team’s first game was played on Oct. 7, 1992, versus the Chicago Blackhawks and resulted in a 7-4 victory. Throughout its history, the team has reached the playoffs 15 times and won three Stanley Cups—2004, 2020, and 2021. They have reached two additional Stanley Cup Finals, once in 2015 and again in 2022. They are one of the NHL’s most successful franchises the 2010s and 2020s.

John Gibson Picks Up 200th Win in Ducks’ Takedown of Lightning

The Anaheim Ducks beat the Tampa Bay Lightning on home ice, 4-1. The Ducks have now won four of their last five. This is highlighted by longtime Ducks goalie John Gibson picking up his 200th career win. He joined legendary Mighty Ducks goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere as the second goalie in franchise history to reach the milestone. Meanwhile, the Lightning have now lost four straight and went winless on their three-game West Coast road trip.
