Devils’ Paul Cotter Celebrates 200th NHL Game

On March 2, the New Jersey Devils took on the Vegas Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena. Despite the Devils taking a 2-0 loss, this was a special game as this marked Paul Cotter’s 200th career game in the NHL.

He began his NHL career with Vegas in the 2021-22 season, but only played seven games. He scored two goals in these seven games, but it was not enough for him to stay with the Golden Knights for the rest of the season.

During the 2022-23 season, he earned 13 goals and five assists for a total of 18 points in 55 games. In the 2023-24 season, he played in 76 games and earned a total of 25 points via seven goals and 18 assists.

During the 2024 offseason, Cotter was traded to New Jersey with a third-round draft pick in this upcoming draft. In return, Vegas received Alexander Holtz and Akira Schmid.

So far this season, he has played in 66 games. He has earned a total of 19 points via 13 goals and six assists.

The 25-year-old currently plays on the third line. Cotter makes up the left wing, Erik Haula plays center, and Stefan Noesen rounds out the trio on the right wing. While he doesn’t put up huge point totals like Jack Hughes or Jesper Bratt, Cotter is still a solid edition to the bottom-six forwards.
