Haydn Fleury Scores Ridiculous Goal at ‘Canes Camp

Just about every day of Carolina Hurricanes development camp has produced a highlight reel-worthy goal. Thursday night produced a new beauty, which was scored by defenseman Haydn Fleury, the seventh overall pick of the 2014 draft.

If there’s any doubt about Fleury’s talent — there wasn’t — in the shootout Thursday night he put in a magic eye trick, behind-the-back shot that is worth a few viewings.

On Wednesday night, it was undrafted 20-year-old Russian forward Sergey Tolchinsky who was wowing us. He put in a between the legs shot on a breakaway. As, The Score pointed out, it wasn’t the first time Tolchinsky made this move.

Tuesday, it was Tolchinsky as well, who put one in with some immaculate patience that was a little reminiscent of Evgeny Kuzetsov’s overtime goal in the 2015 playoffs. The 5-foot-8 forward played in the OHL last season.
