NHL 2025 Playoff Clinching/Elimination Scenarios – 03/29/2025

The Stanley Cup Playoffs are approaching, and teams are officially clinching playoff berths and being eliminated from contention. Here are the potential scenarios where teams can clinch or be eliminated on March 29, 2025.\

Clinching Scenarios

Dallas Stars Clinching Scenario

The Dallas Stars will clinch a playoff berth if:


They defeat the Seattle Kraken in any fashion (10:30 p.m. ET; KHN, Victory+, KONG)

AND

One of the following happens:

The St. Louis Blues lose to the Colorado Avalanche in any fashion (4:30 p.m. ET; FDSNMW, ALT, TVAS)

The Calgary Flames lose to the Edmonton Oilers in any fashion (10 p.m. ET; CBC, SN, CITY)


OR

They earn one point against the Kraken

AND

One of the following happens:

The Blues lose to the Avalanche in regulation

The Flames lose to the Oilers in regulation


Elimination Scenarios

Seattle Kraken Elimination Scenario

The Kraken will be eliminated from playoff contention if:

They lose in regulation to the Stars

OR

The Blues earn a victory against the Avalanche in any fashion

OR

The Kraken earn one point against the Stars and the Blues also earn one point.
