THW Live: To Vegas and Beyond

The expansion National Hockey League team in Las Vegas finally has a name and a logo.

Like the good old days, the Edmonton Oilers are sitting in first place and have the league’s leading scorer in its lineup.

Who’s in goal in Pittsburgh, Marc-Andre Fleury or Matt Murray? And what happened Monday when the Penguins let a 2-0 lead slip away into a 5-2 loss to the New York Rangers in the front end of their first-place home and home set?

Those are some of the topics I discuss with reporters from The Hockey Writers when I host the Thanksgiving edition of The Hockey Writers Live weekly podcast.

This Week’s Guests

Joining me to chat about the Las Vegas Golden Knights is Chris Lizza (@TheNLKing) who co-hosts The Vegas Hockey Podcast.

Providing insight on the Oilers and their superstar 19-year-old captain Connor McDavid is Rob Soria (@Oil_Drop).

Finally, Mike Necciai (@michael29angelo) discusses the defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins with me heading into Wednesday’s rematch with the Rangers at Madison Square Garden.

About THW Live

The Hockey Writers Live anchors the podcast page at The Hockey Writers. Currently, four other podcasts share real estate on that page, including Facing Off, hosted by Larry Fisher, Mark Allred’s Black and Gold podcast about the Boston Bruins, Beyond the Blade with Chad DeDominicis discussing all things Buffalo Sabres, and Chris Lizza’s Vegas Hockey Podcast. The goal is to populate the page with at least one great podcast per NHL team.

It is my great pleasure to host and produce The Hockey Writers Live. I try to bring fun and energy to the show, as well knowledge accumulated from over 25 years as a broadcaster and reporter in the National Hockey League.

I am joined each week by different members from the talented Hockey Writers staff of reporters; and NHL players, coaches, broadcasters, and those in management drop by, as well.

If you’d like to ask a question, make a comment, or let me know about your particular hockey podcast, contact me at: Jim@TheHockeyWriters.com.

For now, sit back and enjoy this week’s show!

Cheers!
