At Minnesota Wild training camp on a professional tryout (PTO), former Montreal forward Tomas Fleischmann has failed his physical on the opening day of camp, Bruce Boudreau confirmed to the Star Tribune.
The reason he failed was not disclosed, and Boudreau wasn’t sure if it was in any way related to a pulmonary embolism he had years ago with the Colorado Avalanche. At the time of the report, the team was still going through tests with Fleischmann.
Boudreau was not sure whether or not this would signal the end of Fleischmann’s time with the team at camp.
Fleischmann started last season with the Montreal Canadiens and was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks near the trade deadline. All told, he scored 14 goals and 25 points through 76 contests.
He enters Wild training camp on a PTO, as does former Wild winger Ryan Carter. Boudreau said over the summer that he’d like to add a veteran forward to the team’s fourth line.
