Flames Waive Karri Ramo

It looks like Bob Hartley is getting his wish for the goaltending merry-go-round to stop in Calgary, at least for the moment. The team has waived goaltender Karri Ramo, according to Bob McKenzie.

Goaltending has been an ongoing concern in Calgary simply because of the lack of clarity who is the number one. So far Jonas Hiller and Ramo have each started three games, with Hiller posting an .867 save percentage and Ramo has a .879.

Should Ramo clear, it’s not clear if he’d stay with the NHL squad or if he’ll be sent down to Stockton with the team bringing up young netminder Joni Ortio. All three goaltenders are on the team’s active roster.

Additionally, the Penguins have waived Tom Kuhnhackl and Buffalo has waived Bobby Sanguinetti.
