Star North Dakota freshman and Vancouver Canucks 2015 1st round draft pick (23rd overall) Brock Boeser has announced that he plans on returning to the University of North Dakota for his sophomore season. He’ll help the Fighting Hawks work to defend the school’s first national championship in 16 years.
Boeser was a huge part of that championship, skating as a part of the vaunted “CBS” line that also featured senior Drake Caggiula and sophomore Nick Schmaltz.
I am looking forward to coming back to UND for my Soph season to defend our NCAA National Championship!

Over the course of the season Boeser posted 60 points, third most nationwide. His 27 goals ranked fourth and the 33 assists he put up was tied for sixth.
At the Frozen Four this past weekend the “CBS” line proved to be the difference for North Dakota, scoring almost all of the team’s goals. That included Boeser assisting on a Nick Schmaltz goal with 56.8 seconds left to beat Denver and advance to the national championship.

In the national championship he scored what wound up being the game-winner, a shorthanded tally on an error that Quinnipiac goaltender Michael Garteig wishes he had back.
The First Team All-American may have had the option to go pro after an incredible season, but will be one of the team’s top players coming back to defend their title, won in head coach Brad Berry’s freshman year as head coach.
