The Connecticut Whale and forward Sam Faber have agreed to terms on a one-year contract extension worth $13,000, the team has announced.
Faber played 13 games with the Whale last season, putting up three goals and three assists, along with another goal and assist in Connecticut’s three postseason contests. They lost to the Buffalo Beauts in the opening round of the postseason.
“I am extremely honored and humbled to be signing with the Whale again,” said Faber. “I hope to bring leadership and offensive production to help the Whale take the next step this season.”
The Whale went longer than any other team in the league before sustaining their first loss, but weren’t able to keep that momentum going. They finished second in the league with a 13-5-0 record, but stumbled frequently toward the end of the season.
Faber’s signing occurred just before the conclusion of the restricted free agency period. All NWHL players are now free agents, eligible to be signed by any team.
