The Dallas Stars survived multiple deficits and a hectic overtime to beat the Colorado Avalanche at American Airlines Center 4-3 on Monday night.
Tyler Seguin, Thomas Harley, and Evgenii Dadonov scored in regulation for the Stars. After being a healthy scratch in Game 1, Colin Blackwell was the overtime hero. Jake Oettinger had a brilliant night between the pipes, stopping 34 shots.

Nathan MacKinnon, Jack Drury, and Logan O’Connor scored for the Avalanche. Mackenzie Blackwood had another terrific performance with 35 saves.

MacKinnon opened the scoring at 8:48 of the first, on the power play, with a wrist shot from the left circle for his third of the postseason in just two games.
The Stars scored a power-play goal of their own at 19:06, after Jamie Benn passed the puck to Mason Marchment at the right circle, who found Seguin at the left circle, who slapped it past the blocker of Blackwood.
Harley gave the Stars their first lead of the series at 3:40 of the middle frame with a wrist shot from the left circle.
62 seconds later, Drury tied the game for the Avalanche with a wrist shot from the slot.

After killing off back-to-back penalties, the Avalanche reclaimed the lead with a backhander from O’Connor in the low slot with 33 seconds left in the period.
Dadonov tied the game yet again, digging for a rebound in the crease and shoveling it home past Blackwood.
With a little more than two minutes remaining in what was as back-and-forth of an overtime as they come, Blackwell tracked down his own rebound and lifted the puck over the left shoulder of Blackwood to give Dallas the 4-3 win and tie the series up at 1-1.
The Stars won the shot battle 39-37, and went 1-for-4 on the power play. The Avalanche went 1-for-3 with the man advantage.
