The St. Louis Blues return home after a three-game road trip, looking to bounce back from a 5-2 loss to the Nashville Predators. The Blues have struggled to find consistency early in the 2026-27 season, and they will look to get back on track against the Winnipeg Jets. With injuries creating opportunities for younger players, St. Louis will also have a chance to see what its depth can provide as it looks to earn two points on home ice.
Last Game: 5-2 Loss Against Predators
The Blues struggled to close out their road trip with a win, falling 5-2 to the Predators. St. Louis will need a stronger defensive effort and better puck management against Winnipeg after allowing Nashville to pull away. The loss also puts added importance on getting production from the top six, particularly with the lineup continuing to change because of injuries.

Blues’ Team Leaders
Mason McTavish leads the Blues with nine points, including five goals, through eight games. Pius Suter, Dylan Holloway and Connor McMichael are tied for second on the team with six points each. Jimmy Snuggerud is second in goals with four.
Storyline #1: Otto Stenberg Recalled After Ross Johnston Injury
The Blues recalled Otto Stenberg from the Springfield Thunderbirds after forward Ross Johnston suffered an injury and was listed as day-to-day. Johnston’s absence creates an opening in the forward group, giving Stenberg an opportunity to return to the NHL lineup.

Stenberg has recorded four points, including one goal and three assists, through six games with Springfield this season. The 2023 first-round pick appeared in 32 games with St. Louis last season, recording three goals and seven assists. He will look to make the most of the opportunity as the Blues deal with injuries up front.
Storyline #2: Aleksanteri Kaskimäki Gets the Call
The Blues also recalled Aleksanteri Kaskimäki from Springfield, and he is expected to take Zach Dean’s spot in the lineup against the Winnipeg Jets. The move gives St. Louis another young forward to work into the lineup as the team looks for more production from its depth.
Kaskimäki has gotten off to a strong start in Springfield, recording two goals and five assists in six games. He also appeared in five games with the Blues last season. The 22-year-old will have a chance to make an impression as he looks to contribute at the NHL level.
Storyline #3: Blues Need Better Special Teams
Special teams will be worth watching after the Blues’ loss to Nashville. St. Louis got a power-play goal from Jimmy Snuggerud, his fourth goal of the season, but the Predators also scored shorthanded and converted a penalty shot. Those mistakes made it difficult for the Blues to keep pace.
The power play will need to build on Snuggerud’s recent production, while the penalty kill must avoid giving Winnipeg easy opportunities. The Jets are coming off a 3-2 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes, in which they allowed two power-play goals. If St. Louis can take advantage of its chances and stay disciplined, special teams could help it start the five-game homestand on a positive note.
