After a long wait to see who will broadcast Carolina Hurricanes games after the announcement of FanDuel not returning in 2026-27, we have our answer. The Hurricanes announced on Tuesday morning (July 21) that they’ll be launching their own sports network. What does that mean for fans moving forward?
Hurricanes Running the Show
The Hurricanes announced that Hurricanes Holdings will own and operate the network to oversee all aspects of production, distribution, sales and marketing for the network while working alongside the NHL.
This comes after FanDuel announced last season that it’ll cease the viewing rights for the Hurricanes and a few other teams. Now, this will give the Hurricanes the chance to run their own programming for the foreseeable future.
Hurricanes Holdings CEO Brian Fork, upon the announcement, stated, “We’re thrilled to launch our own sports network, and provide consistent access to Hurricanes hockey for our great fans. More than ever before, the organization will have the freedom to deliver innovative programming that strengthens the connection between the team, its fans and its community partners.”

When it comes to watching the games, fans will be able to watch the team’s games through a variety of options this season, including cable, satellite and streaming services. The Hurricanes mentioned that the network’s name/branding, channel locations, streaming options and pricing will be announced prior to the start of the 2026-27 season.
Furthermore, fans will be relieved to hear that games will still be called by the duo of play-by-play announcer Mike Maniscalco and tv analyst Tripp Tracy. This will be Maniscalco’s seventh season calling games and his 11th with the team. Tracy is entering his astounding 28th season with the franchise. It’s awesome to see the duo sticking around under the new banner.
While more details will come over the next couple of months, it’s good to see the Hurricanes going in a new direction and running their own programming with the new network.
It’ll be interesting to see what the name will be, the logos, the graphics, and so much more. Hopefully, Hanna Yates will stick around, as she’s well respected and loved within the organization and the fanbase. Don’t be surprised to see Shane Willis working alongside Maniscalco and Tracy as well this upcoming season, outside of running the youth hockey programs.
All in all, this is a great move by the Hurricanes to work with the NHL to have its own network. Now the wait continues on where to watch, the pricing, and more. But until then, we have an idea of what to expect with viewing rights for the Hurricanes in 2026-27 and beyond.
