Lighting Ink Jonne Tammella to Entry-Level Deal

The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed 2015 4th round (118th overall) draft pick Jonne Tammella to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Friday.

Terms of the deal were not announced, but General Fanager reports that the deal carries a $690,000 AAV.

The 18-year-old spent this season playing for KalPa in the Finnish Liiga. He posted five goals and 13 points through 37 games at the top level of Finnish professional hockey. He also tallied one goal in two games of Champions Hockey League play.

He also grabbed 32 games with KalPa last season, at 17, posting four goals and no assists.

The 5-foot-11 forward, according to Hockey’s Future, “has good vision and puck skills to compliment his offensive game, though his ceiling there is limited. He’s also a fast skater with the ability to stop and start on a dime; like most young players, however, he could spend time working on his play in the defensive zone.”
